I’m from “outside Chicago”

What city are you currently based in?
East Side, St. Paul, (Payne-Phalen Neighborhood)  

How do you typically introduce yourself to new people?
PETER (softly) Hi, my name is Peter.
He extends his hand for a handshake, smiling.

PETER (CONT'D) It’s very nice to meet you.
He bows slightly.

What’s one thing you wish more people knew about you?
Ohh, I don’t even know!

Who do you help?
I once served students, as a Dean at Venture Academy.  Now, I serve clients at Manifold Public Design. 

What are you building now?
A family, an art/theory/technology collective, a business, a new album, a book of hymns 

What were you building ten years ago today?
I was building a life for myself in Canada, after 3 yrs on the road.

What do you predict of yourself 10 years from now?
Honestly, I have no idea!  

What’s a fact or statistic you wish everyone knew about your industry?
The medium is the message

Why do you believe the work you do matters?
The people I do it for matter to me

Who is your mentor and what is the best advice they’ve given you?
Stephen Lewis: he picked-out my home

What piece of content about you or your company are you most proud of? 
People seem very impressed that I have a tiny desk concert.  I’m really proud of Stephen’s participation at “People” festivals 16 & 18 with “Kill the Vultures”.  I’m geeking on Patrick’s upcoming release w/ Kristoff Krane.  Joe’s exhibition of “Vessel” at the MIA was a big deal.  Being the creative team behind Minnesota’s first psychedelic clinic is prettaaaaay neat.

What publication do you hope to appear in next?
A book of hymns in a church 

Who would you love to be interviewed by?
I say Terry Gross in the late 90s.  My fiancé says Rick Rubin.  

If you had to give a TEDTalk tomorrow, what would the title be?
“Thanks for listening!”

What award would mean the most to win?
Fulbright?  Purple Heart?

What makes zero sense to you?
Sometimes math

What’s a word in your industry you hope gets re-evaluated?
“Home-in” vs. “Hone-in” and “Down the pike” vs. “Down the pipe”.

What game are you changing?
Our team is creating a high quality design approach that lowers barriers of entry such as cost and exclusivity, and cultivating a public aesthetic that elevates public spaces and media.
